Job Description

India Literacy Project is inviting applications for the position of Librarian for its Hyderabad chapter. If you
have a desire to work with a Professional NGO, gain experience and learn skills on teaching coupled with
day to day administration, here is an opportunity for you.

Qualification and skill-set expectations

  • Graduation in any degree with one or two years’ experience in teaching/ story telling is desirable.
  • Computer skills, word processing, using of MS Excel tools, email, web browsing is essential.


  • Manage and maintain the day-to- day operations of the in school and Mobile Library projects.
  • Assist the Program Coordinator in collection of data related to Impact measurement.
  • Regular communication via email/ SMS/Whats app group about the updates of Project.
  • Syllabus and planning for the sessions according to the learning levels of children.
  • Coordination with ILP coordinator for events/ activities in the schools, library revamping and
    cataloging the books.
  • To interface with the Schoolteachers, Principal, MEO and DEO as when required and to
    maintain a good working relationship with all such stakeholders and supporters.
  • Keeping good records of all the library books and other items of ILP
  • Being responsible for the 6 to 10 schools allotted.

Apart from these, you shall also be allocated with responsibilities and tasks in connection with ILP. At
times this may or may not be directly connected with your agreed responsibilities.


ILP can pay from 10000 to 12000 per month as Salary based on educational qualification, experience and
skill sets.

We are currently working in over 1000 villages across 8 states benefitting 3 lakh people.
ILP has its chapters in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Vishakapatnam. Volunteers from different walks of life spare their services towards Multi-dimensional learning space (MDLS), Counseling, Scholarship and mentoring (CSM) programs of students /children from economically weaker sections.
